Che

Written on 20-07-14 at Cordoba

After an abrupt arrival at 6am we wandered around helplessly trying to find our hostel, thanks to the help - or despite the wrong indications - of multiple locals and policemen we finally made it just in time for pancakes made by the owner! We couldn't have wished for a better breakfast and launched ourselves upon them, only feeling a slight twinge of guilt that we might be having more than our fair share. When our mouths weren't full we managed to bond with two Americans, one of which ended up spending the day with us!

We set out to discover the student town. We rapidly fell under the charm of the small streets and Jesuit buildings.

Capucine even found a church in her name!

One steeple is missing in order to represent human imperfection. After a cultural stop at the museo provincial de las bellas artes,

we realised most of our Cordoban adventures would have to be postponed to tomorrow because it's Sunday. So we took a local bus (no one had any body parts left behind this time!) to Altagracia, Che's childhood home, also famous for its beautiful Jesuit estancia.
We went to the museum, which displayed photos and memorabilia of his life. We may have all gotten a bit carried away with the Che loving, even our American friend joined in!

Time flies when your having fun so we soon had to rush off to the estancia which was due to close! It was well worth it, the light of the sunset gave the roman architecture a dreamy quality that left us a sweet after taste for our ride back to town.
